Sylvius Leopold Weiss was a prominent German composer and lutenist whose contributions to the lute repertoire cannot be overstated. This exciting gigue is a movement drawn from a complete lute suite that I transcribed for the guitar. This piece was recorded by engineer Bill Siegmund at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, NY, featuring an instrument by luthier, Giuseppe Guagliardo.
