Prelude
Sylvius Leopold Weiss (1687-1750)
Richard Jacobowski, guitar
Sylvius Leopold Weiss was a prominent German composer and Lutenist whose contributions to the lute repertoire cannot be overstated. This prelude is a movement drawn from a complete lute suite that I transcribed for the guitar.
This piece was recorded by engineer Bill Siegmund at St. Paul’s Epicopal Church in Brooklyn, NY, featuring an instrument by luthier Giuseppe Guagliardo.
