“Fantasia de Redobles”

Miguel de Fuenllana (1500-1579)

Fantasia De Redobles
Richard Jacobowski

Miguel de Fuenllana published his Orphénica Lyra in 1554. I transcribed the complete solo works from the Orphénica Lyra for my doctoral dissertation. I have always enjoyed this fantasia for its creative use of the redobles technique, which is discussed at great length by Fuenllana in his preface to the work.
